Due to our increased involvement in the community television industry, we are opening up new Management Positions. Student? Non-student?  Five years' experience, or no experience, RMITV welcomes everyone and there is a place for YOU on our team!


Getting Involved
RMITV can be whatever you want it to be. Whether you are interested in marketing, producing, technical supervising or managing, there is something in it for you.  Volunteers who have trained at RMITV work in every state, across all stations and in every role television has to offer.  The last two years alone has seen RMITV alumni employed by Roving Enterprises, The Weather Channel, ABC, Channel 10, Foxtel and many more Australian film and television companies - will you be next?

Working as a volunteer for RMITV allows you to put your academic theory into real-life practice AND get your big break in the media industry - plus there's nothing stopping you from making a television show of your own!

Still studying? Get ahead by working with us in a way that compliments your course. Allow us to tailor an RMITV project for you that helps the organisation and at the same time, meets your course criteria.

Management Positions Available 


Marketing

Part Time: 4 - 6 Hours Per Week


Are you the life of the party? Think you are great at the 'hard sell'? Well RMITV is growing its marketing and publicity team and wants YOU to join us! Marketing at RMITV is an exciting field of management to experience because it is extremely social, always changing and best of all - you have complete creative reign. There's no limit to how far your marketing campaigns can go - if you want to start at some small direct marketing or launch a massive campaign on behalf of RMITV - it's all up to you and how much time you want to commit to the job!

Your work will extend beyond television into all media outlets - magazines, the web, radio, posters, grass roots viral campaign, cross media joint advertising - you name it, you can use it to spread the word about RMITV - giving YOU maximum industry experience.

As a part of the Marketing Team  at RMITV, you will also have have the opportunity to network with professionals within and outside the media industry. And best of all, you will be working with a great variety of fun loving young people from all over Melbourne!

 


Human Resources Manager

Part Time: 4 - 6 Hours Per Week

RMITV is always growing and this year, the organisation would love to invite a new Human Resources Manager into our Management Team. At RMITV, Human Resources is about getting the most from all people by making the organisation a productive and fun place to work. Your most important responsibilities will include developing strategies to put 
crew members in contact with producers, ensuring our productions adhere to our policies and supporting our Management Team in their work related activities.

Building strong relationships across all levels of Management and crew is a big part of the job, and no doubt you'll make some friends along the way!

 


Management Team


Can't decide what you want to do? Are you equally excited about all the different aspects of managing a television production house? Then maybe you would like to join the RMITV Management Team. As a part of our management team, you will be working directly with the General Manager and Office Manager to ensure that our hardworking producers, staff, and production crew receive the assistance they need to make the most of their time at RMITV.  Successful managers will be outstanding communicators and have a desire to see their peers develop and thrive.


Publicity and P.R Manager

Part Time: 6 - 10 Hours Per Week

If you are studying publicity, public relations or a related field, and would like to get some practical hands on experience, then have you considered applying for our Publicity and PR Manager position at RMITV?

As RMITV’s Publicity and P.R Manager, you will be responsible for increasing RMITV’s visibility within the student community as well as the general public. You will research and create a publicity and P.R plan for RMITV and work closely with our Marketing Manager to ensure that all promotional material is consistant with RMITV's Public Image. And of course, you will also be sending out press releases for all of our major events and news items as well as mingeling with media industry professionals. This is certainly a fantastic opportunity to get your foot in the door of the media industry! 
 

Grants Manager

Part Time: 5 - 8 Hours Per Week

As the RMITV Grants Manager you will help RMITV operate as a progressive student-run production house by bringing us into contact with relevant funding streams, as well as assisting us to write grant submissions. Your role is research-based, so you can work largely from home if you want to. Your main responsibilities will be to research and explore the present funding environment, chart all relevant funding streams, funding bodies and trusts (including submission timelines!), subscribe to relevant newsletters and websites, assist in writing grant submissions and monitor compliance with contracts and funding sources.

This role will provide you with knowledge of public and private funding practices/procedures/rules/regulations; grant development and management principles. These skills are invaluable if you would like to work (and survive!) as a Producer within the funding based Australian Film and Television Industry.
