A frequent question from all new producers is what RMITV wants from a show, and how to ensure their show gets approved by RMITV. Although our guidelines for what makes a RMITV show may seem complicated, they all branch from one very simple rule we follow at RMITV, which is RMITV should support the production of television and media, which is produced by students, and is aimed at students.
This doesn't mean your production has to fit exactly in both of those categories, it just means it has to at least touch on one. For instance, RMITV has a great variety of shows, but on almost all our shows you will find students (or recent ex-students) in the main production team. Failing that, if your show is about students, or has an all student crew or cast, these are all postive's which RMITV takes into account when considering what resources to commit to a production. An important factor to take into account is that RMITV is not interested in giving resources to shows that have no interest in being a part of RMITV. If the only thing you want from RMITV is cameras or studio time, and have no interest in your show becoming part of the RMITV community, you should reconsider whether RMITV is the best place for your production. |
