RMITV's 'Studio A' wins 2009 Program of the Year PDF Print E-mail

RMITV's flagship program ‘Studio A’ – a tonight show featuring comedians, sketches, regular segments, bands and special interview guests has won the 2009 Channel 31 Antenna Award for 'Program of the Year', the third time student-run organisation RMITV has taken out the top prize along with 'Pluck' in 2004 and 'Salam Cafe' in 2006.

Recognising achievement in community television, the Antennas were announced at the annual awards ceremony on February 27 and attended by more than 400 producers, presenters and crewmembers from the sector as well as industry representatives.

RMITV received a record 15 nominations across 11 categories for six of its productions this year, with 'Studio A' also winning the award for 'Best Live Program', 'The Red Room’ receiving the ‘Best Personal Development Program’ prize and ‘The Bazura Project’ taking out the award for ‘Best Arts Program’, while ‘Newsline’, ‘A Life in Crime’ and ‘The Jazz Show’ also celebrated nominations.
