We frequently have members that come to us with a particular position or role that they wish to get some experience in. This ranges from individuals wishing to learn the art of directing, or simply how to set up some outside broadcast equipment.

Volunteering at RMITV is one of the best ways to build you expereince in the media industry, and in particular, the television and broadcasting arena.

RMITV operates as a professional production house, and as such there are an enormous range of experiences and training in which you can take part in.

Of course! One of RMITV's main goals is to support and foster the art of student media production in those who are not undertaking a related 'formal' television or media course. RMITV exists to provide opportunites to people who have not had a lot of experience in television or film production - RMITV values willingness to learn and a passion for media production above anything else!

If you are considering starting a production, in particular a Channel 31 production, you may be wondering what the advantages of producing your project with RMITV.

The major advantage of RMITV is our established support network. RMITV has strong ties with RMIT University, Channel 31, and independant producers and production houses throughout Melbourne. This provides a wealth of experience  and know how, so chances are if RMITV management cannot help, we will know someone who can.  We also have a 300+ membership community to support you and your production.

A frequent question from all new producers is what RMITV wants from a show, and how to ensure their show gets approved by RMITV. Although our guidelines for what makes a RMITV show may seem complicated, they all branch from one very simple rule we follow at RMITV, which is

RMITV should support the production of television and media, which is produced by students, and is aimed at students.

Definitely not! ....although it would definitely be advised that you are at least interested in student media.

RMITV members come from pretty much every walk of life - however, we all share a common goal: the creation of television and media by students and for students.
